In 2007, the Portland Women's Foundation celebrated its 120th anniversary. In keeping with the founding purpose, PWF started making grants specifically in the areas of housing and education to promote self-sufficiency. This is a change from the past few years when grants addressed broader issues. By refocusing to the original mission of PWF, the board of directors will have the opportunity to make a greater impact on the housing and self-sufficiency needs of women in the Portland metropolitan area.
The Portland Women's Foundation:
- Gives preference to programs where women comprise at least 75% of the people served

- Be an established nonprofit agency operating within Clackamas, Multnomah or Washington counties
- Have a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status
